The global hip hop phenomenon Black Eyed Peas and Hong Kong singer Karen Mok, performed an exclusive concert for about 700 people in Shanghai at the Shanghai Concert Hall on Tuesday, June 3, 2008. Dedicating the event to the victims of the 12th May earthquake, the Black Eyed Peas, Karen Mok, Pernod Ricard China and Chivas Brothers Limited donated 6M RMB to the China Red Cross relief effort.
A charity auction was also held at the concert with personal items donated by the artists. Black Eyed Peas donated a guitar, a limited edition print and a framed Black Eyed Peas album, all signed by members willi.i.am., Fergie, Taboo and Apl De.Ap. A beautiful cheong sam and a photo album were donated by Karen Mok. Overall, nearly 72,000 RMB was raised by the auction. MTV will be putting you in the midst of the action
with special vignettes of the concert. Employing snappy sound bites garnered from one-on-one interviews, each vignette will feature one of the performing artists telling us among other things, their excitement in taking part in Chivas Live and their thoughts on this fresh and innovative event. |
